From the desk of John Davin
"HOW SPYWARE WAS KILLING MY PRODUCTIVITY,"
and how I remove spyware from my computer once and
for all.
By John Davin
Until recently, Spyware was killing
my productivity and my fun. Spyware might be on
your computer and killing your computer and your
fun too, if you are asking questions like:
Why would my brand new computer seem to not run
as fast as it did just a few weeks ago?
Why do web pages on the Internet load much slower
than they used to?
Could it be because someone could be watching the
keystrokes I make on my computer?"
Could someone actually be recording every keystroke
I make on my computer each day?
What if they could see me type in my credit card
numbers or my social security number?
Or would they just steal my passwords as I typed
them in and access my accounts directly?
How do I find out if I have spyware or malware on
my computer?
How can I delete spyware and malware from my computer?
Let's start at the beginning.
Have you noticed that your computer is slowing down?
Is it taking a long time to find files or taking
a long time to find web sites? Is there ever a delay
from when you type in information and when you see
it on the screen? Have you ran the latest, greatest
spyware and malware removal utilities, but had no
success? If you're like me, you've even tried clearing
your cache and deleting your temporary Internet
files daily, but your computer is still as slow
as the old computer you just put in mothballs.
But that is not the most aggravating part of the
problem.
You might also be worried about people stealing
your keystrokes to steal your credit cards and your
identity!
It is very possible in today's computerized world.
But what do you do? Is the problem real? I kept
hearing about the potential for people to record
my keystrokes and steal my identity or credit cards
information, and did not know what to do.
About Identity Theft:
From the Federal Trade Commission: Your National
Resource for Identity Theft
"How can someone steal your identity?
Identity theft occurs when someone uses your personal
information such as your name, Social Security number,
credit card number or other identifying information,
without your permission to commit fraud or other
crimes.
Identity theft is a serious crime. People whose
identities have been stolen can spend months or
years - and their hard-earned money - cleaning up
the mess thieves have made of their good name and
credit record. In the meantime, victims may lose
job opportunities, be refused loans, education,
housing or cars, or even get arrested for crimes
they didn't commit."
The author of the spyware
detector and remover package I use states right
on the front page:
" Spyware and Adware is extremely dangerous.
These infections allow advertisers, hackers, and
Internet thieves the ability to monitor all of the
sites you visit, the e-mails you send and receive,
and can allow them to steal your private Internet
passwords, social security number, and credit card
information. But this is just a small list of what
they can do. Plain and simple, you DO NOT want Spyware
or Adware on your computer."
Here is my story about how my brand new computer
slowed down to a crawl with literally dozens of
spyware programs running on it 24/7.
For the past year, I have been having problems with
my new computer slowing down . In fact, at times
I even had problems even using some web conferencing
software programs on the Internet. So I continually
ran two very popular and recommended packages to
remove the spyware. The good news is the programs
always found many spyware programs on my computer
and removed them.
So I thought I had my spyware problem under control.
But it seemed like within days after running the
software, my new computer was slowing down again.
So it was always in the back of my mind that my
computer was not really as fast as it was when I
first purchased it, and worse, I had fears that
there must still be spyware on my computer tracking
my keystrokes on the keyboard and sending it to
some hacker out of the country.
I got so fed up with it that I started looking for
another program to run to see if there was indeed
still spyware on my computer. But I wanted to find
a program that provided a free scan as I already
had download two similar that did work.
Finally... software that provides a free scan of
your computer.
Luckily, I found another program that allowed me
to scan my computer for free to see if I still had
spyware on my pc... and the system said I DID still
have tons of spyware running on my computer. Even
though I had just run two "Well respected"
anti-spyware programs right before I ran this new
program.
Look at the attached print out yourself to see what
I found on my computer!
I found 109 files that were still infected, plus
dozens of programs that were still were still in
my registry and loading and running every time I
turned on my computer.
That was SCARY. Not only was my slow computer wasting
my precious minutes every time I used my computer,
but people were also undoubtadly tracking everything
I did on the Internet.
To this day, I wonder if even my keystrokes on my
keyboard were being tracked to steal my credit card
numbers, or worse yet, my Identity.
But how did these programs get
on my computer? Most of these programs get on your
computer without you even knowing it. Others come
with programs that you knowingly install on your
computer. In any case, a most frustrating part of
this story is that I recognize many of these spyware
programs because I remember installing them because
I thought I needed them. But I ALSO REMEMBER un-installing
many of them to remove them from my computer when
I found a better program or became worried about
what they were doing to my security.
So now I know that when you install all these handy
little utilities, even if you remove them, they
may not be gone! Sadly, I'm talking about fun program
that are supposed to track your passwords or keep
track of the weather for you along with hundreds
of other tasks.
The fact is many of these programs are still
in your pc, waiting to spy on you and everything
you do on the Internet. With that thought in mind,
the fact that your computer is running unbearably
slow is a small matter.
My final thoughts are that if you are on the Internet
at all, and you have not run this free scan, (or
even if you have used other programs) you will be
totally surprised and scared by the of the number
of programs currently running on your computer.
You will also be pleasantly surprised how much faster
your computer will run once you run the software,
and how much more fun it is to work, play and surf
with a faster and safer computer.
As I mentioned, I had around 100 programs on my
computer that I thought were removed by other programs.
So I advise everyone to run this software (at least
the free scan) immediately. You'll at least know
within a few minutes what spyware is in fact on
your computer. Then you can decide if you want to
pay to clean it up. I think I know the answer to
that question.
The choice is yours. In any case, I'm just glad
I have my new computer back.

Testimonials for our spyware
removal software:
From Dave Funk

John we have had so many (spyware programs)
it is unbelievable. My friends and I downloaded
your software and here's what happened:
* Mickey and Dave Rawls installed the program
and when it ran they found 1,875 spyware programs
working on their computer.
* Mark Frohman said he was using a FREE program
called Ad-Aware and he was cleaning ALL the
programs from his computer. I told him to just
run the scan and see what it finds. It found
414 spyware programs Ad-Aware was missing.
As I get them (feedback) in the email from now
on I will forward them to you.
I personally was using also Ad-Aware on three
computers and when I ran the scan on a computer
1 ½ years old, it found 87 spyware Programs
that Ad-Aware was missing. I just purchased
a NEW computer 4 months ago, and it found 63
spyware programs running on it.
It sure is the best $39.95 I have ever spent.
Thanks Dave

My 3 year old computer was running
so slow that I had to buy a new computer 6 months
ago. Then within weeks my new computer was running
so slowly too that I knew I had to find the
real problem, pronto.
I had been continually running two very popular
and recommended packages to remove spyware,
and it did find and remove many programs. But
I still felt I needed another solution.
I finally came across this program that allowed
me to do a free scan before I spent the money
on the software. The good news is it found 109
software programs that were still running on
my computer AFTER I ran the other two spyware
removers, so I knew I needed the software bad.
Ten (Yes 10!) minutes later I had my new computer
back running the way it was the first day I
brought it home! My computer is unbelievably
faster and computing and surfing is fun again.
I may even pull out my old computer and run
this software to see if it comes back to life
too!
